PURPOSE: A method for researching a navigation route is provided to allow a driver to conveniently drive a vehicle by notifying a normal traveling route if the present traveling route is obviated from the normal traveling route. CONSTITUTION: A traveling route is researched(10). Then, a normal traveling route is notified to a driver(20). It is determined whether or not the present traveling route is obviated from the normal traveling route(30). If the present traveling route is obviated from the normal traveling route, a link ID, a link start node and a link end node in a new street are converted into a PF link ID and PF link value and the PF link ID and PF link value are stored(40). Then, a predetermined end point is set by determining whether or not the vehicle passes through a predetermined region(50). After performing an automatic research process, it is determined whether or not the remaining distance is within a predetermined distance range(70). If the remaining distance is out of the predetermined distance range, it is determined whether or not the vehicle runs in a reverse direction. If the vehicle runs in a normal direction, it is determined whether or not a unit is varied. After setting a unit finish order, it is determined whether or not present proceeding unit information exists. If present proceeding unit information exists, the present proceeding unit is set. Then, the present proceeding unit is set as a destination.
