<p>PURPOSE:To connect a branch coupling to a main pipe only from the outside of the main pipe by a method wherein a moving cylinder is armored with a packing, the saddle of a coupling body is pressed against the peripheral edge of a connection hole, a middle cylinder is rotated, and the moving cylinder is moved to the coupling body side by means of a screw. CONSTITUTION:After a sheath pipe 5 is pushed in a ground to an existing main pipe 7, a connection hole 71 is formed in the main pipe 7. A mounting pipe 9 with the tip of which a branch coupling A is formed integrally is inserted in the sheath pipe 5 and the branch coupling A is pushed in the main pipe so that a saddle 12 is brought into pressure contact with the peripheral edge of the connection hole 71. A packing 4 has a first seal part 42 compressed between the saddle 12 and the main pipe 7 and a cylinder part 41 and a second seal part 43 are pushed in the main pipe 7. A rotary body 82 is inserted in the mounting pipe 9 and a lock claw 83 is engaged with the engaging recessed part of a middle cylinder 2. When the middle cylinder 2 is rotated by the rotary body 82, the moving cylinder 3 is moved in the direction of a middle cylinder 2 through joining of the male screw 22 of the middle cylinder 2 in a screwed-in state with the female screw 31 of the moving cylinder 3. Thus, the tip part of the second seal part 43 is extruded to the outwide by means of the taper of a flange part 32 and the coupling A is fixed in a watertight state to the main pipe 7.</p> |
