PURPOSE: A random access method of packet data by using a P-CSMA(Persistent Carrier Sense Multiple Access) algorithm is provided to minimize data collision and enhance performance of a channel process rate by using a protocol suitable for a composite access communication. CONSTITUTION: A transmitting side terminal of an integrated remote meter reading system packetizes data to be transferred according to the set number of bits(S210), and checks a communication channel of a transmission mode to judge whether the channel is in use(S220). If the channel is not in use, the transmitting side terminal selects a random number(S230). The transmitting side terminal compares the selected random number with an ACK success probability value of a pertinent terminal to judge whether the ACK success probability value is the same as or larger than the random number(S240). If the random number is larger than the ACK success probability value, the transferring side terminal transfers a relay packet in order to relay a packet by using a terminal with a high ACK success probability(S250). If the ACK success probability value of the terminal is larger than or the same as the random number, the transmitting side terminal transfers the data packet(S260).
