PURPOSE: A new asymmetric phase-transfer catalyst is obtained from Cinchona alkaloid, and used in the synthesis of amino acid to synthesize alpha amino acid in simplified and productive ways. CONSTITUTION: The compound is expressed by the formula 1 where X is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, IO4-, CIO4-, OTf-, or HSO4-. In the formula 1, R1 is hydrogen or methoxy, R2 is vinyl or ethyl group, R3 is hydrogen, allyl, benzyl, or alkyl with the carbon numbers of 1-10, R4 is fluorine or cyan group, and R5 and R6 are hydrogen or fluorine.
