The invention concerns a novel screening method for identifying compounds modulating gene expression in targeted manner. The invention is characterized in that it comprises: (i) contacting a test compound with at least two selection units including each at least a selection gene placed under the control of a promoter and elements initiating translation, in conditions enabling expression of said selection genes, and (ii) determining the capacity of the test compound to modulate the expression of said selection genes. The invention also concerns cell lines whereof the cells comprise at least two selection units as defined above, their preparation and their uses. The invention further concerns the use of the identified compounds for preventing or treating pathologies causing translational deregulation such as cancers.
