<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magenta ink having good light resistance and satisfying other characteristics such as a color tone, water resistance, moisture resistance, clogging property and storage reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The ink containing at least the first dye and the second dye is characterized in that the first dye has a structure represented by formula (I) (wherein, X: -COOM or -SO<SB>3</SB>M; Y: -H, -NH<SB>2</SB>or -O(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>m</SB>H; M: -H, -Li, -Na, -K, -NH<SB>4</SB>or -NH(CH<SB>2</SB>OH)<SB>3</SB>; n=2-10; m=1-4; l=0 or 1), the second dye is selected from a dye having a structure represented by formula (II) (wherein, M is H, Li, Na, K, ammonium or organic amines; R1 is H, Cl or the formula; X is a substituted anilino group with at least one SO<SB>3</SB>M; Y is OH, Cl or morpholino group; R2 is H, CH<SB>3</SB>, Cl or SO<SB>3</SB>M) and/or C.I.
