<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that counting is cleared by operation not to cancel a power saving state during counting-down to the power saving state in the conventional multifunction device and that such counting is not cleared by external access not accompanied with operation to the multifunction device during counting-down to a power OFF state. <P>SOLUTION: The operation of a first operation group to use a fixing device and the operation of a second operation group including all operations are set, a first timer for a change into power saving state and a second timer to turn off a power source are provided respectively and during the operation of the first operation group, the first timer is cleared. During the operation of the second operation group, the second timer is cleared.
