<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-phase AC motor control device which obtains a favorable overcurrent and overheat protection while suppressing a burden increase in a data processing circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A motor protection part 3 is provided to protect a three-phase AC motor 1 or the motor control part 2 based on the square value of a q-axis current iq. With such a constitution, data process quantity, that is, the calculation burden can be significantly reduced as compared with similar conventional overcurrent protection control using a three-phase current iU, iV and iW and overheating protection control, and high-speed overcurrent protection and overheat protection can be obtained at a low cost. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
