<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure which suppresses a local temperature elevation without segmenting or by integrating less segments, and thus suppresses the damage caused by thermal stress during use, and also provide a method for production thereof. <P>SOLUTION: This honeycomb structure 1 has numerous through-holes 3, each of which is partitioned by a partition wall 2 and passes through in an axial direction, and the flow path separators 6 are formed therein.
