PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color correcting device and method capable of automatically executing optimal color correction processing with stored colors taken into consideration and a medium with a color correction control program recorded thereon. SOLUTION: A computer 21 constituting the center of color correction calculates the x-y chromaticity of each pixel by a step S110, and when the chromaticity is within the possible range of the chromaticity of a skin color, the computer 21 totals those pixels by steps S120 and S130, and calculates the mean value of the totaled results of all the pixels by a step S160, and calculates color correction quantity with the number of pixels taken into consideration by a step S170. Thus, it is possible to accurately total the pixels of colors to be corrected without being affected by the brightness, and to execute the optimal color correction without substantially affecting the colors of the peripheral pixels by adjusting the correction quantity with the number of pixels taken into consideration.
