PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bundle light guide which can be used at a high temperature, e.g. 200°C or more. SOLUTION: An optical fiber F having a metal coating layer 3 made of alminum, etc., on an outer circumference of an optical fiber main portion 2 passes through a flexible pipe 4 made of a stainless steel, etc. The metal coating layer is not removed at one end of the optical fiber F. The optical fiber F is fixed to a sleeve 5 comprising a heat-resistant material such as stainless steel, etc., by a heat-resistant adhesive 6 such as a ceramic adhesive, etc., and the bundle light guide is manufactured. The bundle light guide has heat resistance by using the metal coating layer 3 and the heat-resistant adhesive 6, is hard to be scratched and broken, and can be prevented from deteriorating by ultraviolet rays for a long time if the optical fiber F is used for transmitting the ultraviolet rays. Since the metal coating layer 3 at ends of the optical fiber main portion 2 is not removed, a process is not complicated and the cost can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
