<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a complete three-dimensional image display device which has axially 360° and vertically 240° field angles for the naked eye and is free of a phantom characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: A side screen system limits a sectional image of an image of a display object or video which is projected or drawn on a screen surface according to the angle of rotation of a rotary screen or a momentary visual recognition range to a direction perpendicular to the flank of the screen at the angle of rotation. Two surface screens are installed at a proper interval and the multiple reflection of individual pieces of luminous flux induced in the gap between a projection-side screen surface and the other screen surface by using individual pieces of image luminous flux passing through the projection- side screen surface is used as a spot light source for a viewpoint which is positioned in the space of gaps of those screens and outside the screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
