<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively support communication. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic sensor part 13 detects hand writing input by a pen device 11. A character symbol recognition part 14 recognizes a character symbol from the hand writing input, and a linguistic symbol translation part 15 translates recognized character symbols. A control part 18 finds user's position through the operation of the pen device 11, and makes a disposition information storage part 17 store the positional information of the user. The control part 18 makes the result of translation display on a screen of an image display part 12, in a direction corresponding to the users position. The control part 18 displays an image as it is but conducts a translation process to not only a character but also a symbol.
