<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which image defect of an oblong spot-shape can be prevented and stable image quality can be obtained over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a contact type electrostatic charging means for uniformly electrifying surfaces of image carriers by coming into contact with the rotating image carries 1y, 1m, 1c, 1k on their surfaces, an exposing means for forming an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the image carrier electrified by the contact type electrostatic charging means by exposure corresponding to image formation, developing means 3y, 3m, 3c, 3k for developing the electrostatic latent image by the toner to obtain an toner image, transferring means 4ym, 4ck, 5, 6 for electrostatically transferring the toner image from the image carrier surface to a transfer material and a cleanerless system or a blade cleanerless system. The contact type electrostatic charging means 2y, 2m, 2c, 2k are provided with electrostatic charged rolls and minute hardness (A) of a surface layer of the electrostatic charged roll is≤75 degree when measured by a MD-1 hardness meter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
