PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the effective use of a cooling air flow, avoidance of damage to a projected video, the easy attachment and detachment of a liquid crystal projector and a filter device, improvement in workability in filter unit replacement, the elimination of obstacles to ventilation/discharge effects of cooling air caused by mismatching of air permeability between the air intake window and the exhaust window of an external casing, etc., in a liquid crystal projector device provided with a filter device for dust-proofing. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal projector device provided with the filter device is constructed to directly blow cooling air so that the cooling air flow reach the inlet and the light projection opening of the projector effectively from the air intake window of the external casing. The filter device and the projector are constructed in freely separable bodies. The filter unit of the filter device consists of two movable filter unit parts arranged successively and is freely replaceable. The filter device is constructed so that an exhaust flow does not cross the video light beam of a light projection lens, and the ventilation resistance of the filter unit at the air intake window is taken into account and the pressure of the inside of the external casing does not become negative.
