PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote maintenance terminal for enabling an efficient inspection work and a prompt/exact maintenance work of facsimile equipment. SOLUTION: The remote maintenance terminal 4 is connected with the facsimile equipment 1 having a self-diagnostic function via a communication network 3 and periodically instructs execution of self-diagnosis. The facsimile equipment 1 returns a diagnostic result obtained by performing diagnosis based on the instruction of execution of the self-diagnosis to the remote maintenance terminal 4. The maintenance terminal 4 collects the received diagnostic result by a collection means 43 and executes analysis of a fault, etc., by an analytical means 44.
