PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping device capable of offering an excellent vibration damping effect over a wide frequency range and stably delivering target vibration damping effect by suppressing temperature dependency in vibration damping performance. SOLUTION: One end of a coil spring 14 is fixed to a hollow housing 12 which is fixed to be mounted on a vibration damping object member. The other end of the coil spring 14 is protruded to be positioned in an accommodation space 24 having the inside of the hollow housing 12. An independent dumper mass member 16 which is independently accommodated and arranged in the accommodation space 24 without being fixed to either of the hollow housing 12 or the coil spring 14 is made to abut on the other end of the coil spring 14 at the time of vibration input of the vibration damping object member.
