摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functionally gradient material in which a volume fraction of reinforcing phases and density are gradiently higher toward an inner region than in an outer circumferential region of a ring made from a composite material, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises melting an alloy in which the substance corresponding to a matrix has higher density than that of the substance having the composition corresponding to a primary crystal, when the substances are both solid phases or liquid phases, and the primary crystal has higher density than that of the molten matrix, when the primary crystal is in the solid phase and the matrix is in the liquid phase; crystallizing the primary crystal of a solid phase having higher density than that of the molten matrix; moving the primary crystal of the solid phase to the outer region of the ring by applying a centrifugal force during melting; and then solidifying the remaining molten matrix to make the primary crystals gradiently distribute denser in the outer circumferential region and the reinforcing phases denser in the inner circumferential region of the ring, and simultaneously to thereby make the density change.
