PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element unit which can speedily and surely move an optical element to an optical path, a camera equipped with the optical element unit, and a photographic lens. SOLUTION: The camera 100 is equipped with the photographic lens 120, a camera body 110, and the optical element unit 140 including the optical element 142 which can be arranged in the optical path. The optical element unit 140 has an optical element frame 144, a frame guide member 146 which guides the optical element frame 144, a rotary member 148 which can rotate to move the optical element 146 along the frame guide member 146, rotation limiting members 150a and 150b which limit the rotation of the rotary member 148, and an actuator 152 which rotates the rotary member 148. When the optical element frame is at its operation position or non-operation position, the direction in which the rotation limiting members apply forces to the rotary member is perpendicular to the direction in which the optical element frame moves.
