PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor material which is excellent not only in compatibility to a floor substrate but also in soundproofing properties and anti-breakage properties, and can be formed of recycled resources. SOLUTION: A floor base plate 1 is formed by hot-press-molding a mixture containing woody spline material obtained from discarded materials, etc., and a synthetic resin, and a plurality of linear slots 2 which are in parallel with each other are formed in a rear surface thereof concurrently with the hot-press molding. By virtue of the linear slots 2, the floor material has the flexibility and soundproofing properties imparted thereto. Further, by setting an opening width of each linear slot 2 and a thickness of a floor material surface layer between a slot bottom and a front surface of the floor base plate 1 to respective predetermined values, the floor material is protected from breaking at the linear slots.
