<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mobile communication terminal equipment whose power consumption can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: A reception level detection means 12 acquires a reception level by a radio transmitter-receiver 11 at the set time. A position measuring means 14 obtains a position of a present terminal by a GPS receiver 13 when the reception level of a previous time indicates the outside of range. A base station area deciding means 15 decides whether the position of the present terminal is within a base station area or on the outside of the base station area based on contents stored in a base station position table 17. When it is on the outside of the base station range, a base station within range arrival predicting means 16 predicts the time required before the present terminal arrives inside the base station range by a distance between a base station and the present terminal and sets the reception level detection time of the next time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
