PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator that keeps a first and a second refrigerating compartments convenient while ensuring a capacity of a freezing compartment. SOLUTION: A refrigerating compartment is divided into an upper-lower pair to define the first refrigerating compartment in the upper section and the second refrigerating compartment in the lower section, a refrigerating evaporator and a refrigerating blower are disposed on the upper back of the first refrigerating compartment, and a main control board is housed on the back of the second refrigerating compartment and outside a heat insulator. The refrigerating compartment and the second refrigerating compartment can ensure relatively large depth dimensions, and the first refrigerating compartment keeps its convenience intact. A defrosting water drainpipe and refrigerant piping from the refrigerating evaporator are passed dividedly on opposite sides of the control substrate housing part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
