The gas burner, comprising a pot (1) with an eccentric inlet (3) for the combustible mixture, and a head (9) with a central combustion zone (15), has passages (Fi, Fj) in the head for the circulation of the combustible mixture between the pot and combustion zone. The passages, which are in the form of a series of regularly-spaced slits extending virtually all the height of the head, are angled to create a turbulence in the mixture in the central zone. The head itself has a truncated conical shape that diverges towards its upper end.
