PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of easily originating an opposite party while adding desired dial information to the searched party information. SOLUTION: When a handset 19 is hooked off during a telephone directory mode, a searched telephone number is held, an indication is left on a liquid crystal display 13 as it is (S<SB>27</SB>), and a ten key 141 is functioned as an ordinary dial key (S<SB>28</SB>). Continually, it is checked whether a call originate key 144 is depressed or not (S<SB>29</SB>) and when the call originate key 144 is not depressed (S<SB>29</SB>: NO), the origination of the call is performed corresponding to dial key operation by the ten key 141 (S<SB>30</SB>). Afterwards, when the call originate key 144 is operated (S<SB>31</SB>: YES), the telephone number displayed on the liquid crystal display 13 is automatically dialed (S<SB>33</SB>) and an ordinary telephone state is provided (S<SB>34</SB>).
