PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fusing device for an electrophotographic image forming apparatus with short warm-up time. SOLUTION: The fusing device is provided with a tubular heat pipe 114 having both ends hermetically sealed and containing a predetermined amount of working fluid in the internal space, a fusing roller 112 provided so as to surround the heat pipe 114, a heat generating part 113 arranged between the fusing roller 112 and the heat pipe 114 for generating heat, and a power connecting unit 200 for transmitting external electric power to the heat generating part 113. The heat generating part 113 is provided with a resistive coil for generating heat by using the electric power transmitted by the power connecting unit 200, an insulation layer covering the resistive coil, a metal layer surrounding the insulation layer, and leads for connecting the resistive coil to the power connecting unit 200 at both ends thereof. Thereby, the warm-up time required for initial operation is reduced, and the stability of the heat generating part is secured by the use of the leads acting as a heat sink. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
