PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electrophotographic photosensitive body which has an inorganic surface protective layer hardly developing cracking and peeling in a practical use environment or a long-term storage, etc., and having more excellent physical stability and durability than hithertofore. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic photosensitive body is constituted by laminating an organic photosensitive layer and an inorganic surface protective layer in this order and, among these layers, the uppermost surface part of organic photosensitive layers which is at least in contact with the surface protective layer contains a tytanyl phthalocyanine derivative. The tytanyl phthalocyanine has no peak of temperature change between 50°C and 400°C except the peak accompanying the vaporization of adsorbed water in differential scanning calorimetry. Otherwise, in CuKαcharacteristic X-ray diffraction spectrum, the tytanyl phthalocyanine has the maximum peak at least at Bragg angle 2θ±0.2°=27.2°and has no peak at 26.2°. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
