摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens holding mechanism for a camera which uses a solid-state image pickup element that generates no defocusing caused by environment change such as temperature fluctuation and vibration. SOLUTION: A longitudinal knurl 3, parallel to optical axis, is formed on the outer peripheral surface of a lens frame 10. A rotation blocking part is provided on the outer peripheral surface of a lens connection cylinder. A lens retainer 2 is provided with a knurl engagement groove whose form is complementary with the knurl part and a rotation block engagement part whose form is complementary with the rotation blocking part. By allowing the rotation blocking part to engage with the rotation block engagement part, the lens retainer 2 engages with the lens connection cylinder while blocking rotation of the lens retainer. After the lens is focused, the lens retainer is shifted in the optical axis direction so that the knurl engagement groove engages with the knurl part, and the tip of a screw screwed in the lens retainer presses the outer peripheral surface of the lens connection cylinder for fixing the lens.
