PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation in the quality of a formed image on a printing medium even in the case that development of an image having a low image- proportion continues by handling it by means of firmware without improving the constituents of a toner particle or an addition agent or improving a device for stirring toner particles.

SOLUTION: The image forming device has an electrophotographic image forming unit that forms a toner image on a printing medium and a control device that makes the image forming unit form a specific pattern image when a numeric value indicating an amount of the operation of the image forming unit reaches a specific value.
