PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method which can timely and smoothly change between synchronized driving with physiological activity of a patient and accelerator characteristic cycle driving. SOLUTION: The driving method has a controlling logic of changing the accelerator driving, which outputs start signal of an accelerator pattern, irradiation start signal and irradiation stop signal, according to inputs consisting of timing (pre-trigger signal, trigger signal) from a breath monitor 20 which detects the physiological activity, timing from a fixed master generator 14 which gives the accelerator characteristic cycle and master timing signal synchronizing with the accelerator pattern driving by a pattern controlling device 11. Thereby efficiency of medical treatment driving is improved because it becomes possible that preparation action of the patient and the accelerator driving are done in parallel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
