PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device for a discharge needle, which can remove infiltrative stains from the discharge needle and can sharpen a point of the discharge needle. SOLUTION: When a start switch is turned on, a motor 18 for rotation is driven to start rotation of a holder 17 of cutting edges 13 and a sliding motor 22 is driven to slide a rotating driver 14 near to a holder 12. Rotating points of three edges 13 touch strongly a peripheral surface of point portion of the discharge needle 11 and begin to shave the peripheral surface of it into thin layers. The point portion of the discharge needle 11 becomes sharp as the rotating driver 14 approaches the holder 12. When the point of the discharge needle 11 touches an electrode 16 which detects completion of cutting, the electrode 16 is connected electrically to the holder 12 via the discharge needle 11, and the said indicating lamp which is connected electrically between them is lighted.
