PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator that keeps a first and a second refrigerating compartments convenient while ensuring a capacity of a freezing compartment. SOLUTION: A refrigerating compartment is divided into an upper-lower pair to define the first refrigerating compartment in the upper section and the second refrigerating compartment in the lower section, a refrigerating evaporator and a refrigerating blower are disposed on the upper back of the first refrigerating compartment, and a main control board is housed on the back of the second refrigerating compartment and outside a heat insulator. The refrigerating compartment and the second refrigerating compartment can ensure relatively large depth dimensions, and the first refrigerating compartment keeps its convenience intact. A defrosting water drainpipe for draining defrosting water in the refrigerating evaporator out of the refrigerator, and refrigerant piping from the refrigerating evaporator are passed through the heat insulator beside the control substrate housing part.
