PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display accurate image information even when the aspect ratio of contents is different from the aspect ratio of a display unit. SOLUTION: When a WEB browser 16 displays generated contents 20 with an aspect ratio 4:3 that a WEB server 15 obtains on a display with an aspect ratio of 16:9, a filter program 17 finds a place where the position of an image file in the contents 20 and the size of its display are described to convert the contents into contents 23 whose image file does not become laterally longer when displayed on the display screen with the aspect ratio of 16:9. Consequently, character information is displayed laterally longer, but the image information is displayed without being made laterally longer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
