<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relative rotatable ultrasonic resonator and a fixing device that can load ultrasonic vibration without a sliding part. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic resonator 1 is so constructed that: an end face plate 3 having a spindle 4 at the axis center is provided at each end in the axial direction of a hollow cylindrical section 2; a plurality of piezoelectric devices 5a, 6a and 5b, 6b, which are expanded and contracted in the radial direction are placed at appropriate intervals in the circumferential direction of the end face plate 3; and the piezoelectric devices 5a, 6a and 5b, 6b are expanded and contracted sequentially to generate an ultrasonic travelling wave that travels around the outer perimeter of the hollow cylindrical section 2. Such an ultrasonic resonator 1 is applied as the vibrating source of a fixing device to load ultrasonic vibration so that fixing is achieved without a sliding part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
