PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a data generating function to insert proper data to supplied broadcasting data with an optimum scale. SOLUTION: An edit section 11 generates edit information. Coding sections 14-1 to 14-N encode uncompressed video/audio and information being a source of captions/character super data to produce a TS (Transport Stream). TS reproduction sections 15-1 to 15-N reproduce the TS transmitted in a file form. Data generating sections 16-1 to 16-N encode information being a source of data sent in a file form to produce the TS. TS edit sections 18-1-1 to 18-1-N join transport streams such as a present program, a next program or own station data to configure a TS. A TS edit section 18-2 configures a TS with common data ES (Elementary Stream) accessible from a plurality of services. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
