PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breather apparatus for a power train of an electric automobile, of which the breather apparatus is capable of miniaturizing a gear case and a motor case. SOLUTION: The breather apparatus 1 is provided with a breather chamber 13 arranged in the upper part of a joint portion joining a motor case 11 containing an electric motor M to a gear case 12 containing a gear box C. Further, the breather apparatus 1 includes a first pipe 14 for communicating its breather chamber 13 with the inside of the motor case 11, and a second pipe 15 for communicating the breather chamber 13 with a lubricating oil separating chamber S formed inside the gear case 12.
