PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sink having excellent radiation effects, and a cooling apparatus having the heat sink and superior cooling effects. SOLUTION: A heat sink 11 for dissipating heat transmitted from a CPU 13 to the air supplied from an axial fan 12 is fixed to the CPU 13. A base 14 is provided so that heat is freely transmitted from the CPU 13. A plurality of fins 15 are provided so that they are integrated with the base 14, and at the same time heat can be freely transmitted from the base 14. Each fin 15 is provided at an interval mutually. Further, in the heat sink 11, a straightening body 16 for guiding the air supplied from the axial fan 12 is provided so that air flow is generated in a region L near a virtual straight line L including the axis of the axial fan 12 by the air supplied from the axial fan 12. The straightening body 16 has guiding members 17 and 18 that are provided at the corner section of the heat sink 11, and guides the air to a rotating direction A of the axial fan 12.
