PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a center-of-gravity adjusting device which can adjust the center-of-gravity balance of an optical body easily with high precision and a method of adjusting a center of gravity using it. SOLUTION: The center-of-gravity adjusting device 1 is equipped with a hanging section 2 which suspends an optical body 20 for light beam irradiation which has a gimbal shank 16 through the gimbal shank 16, a stage section 3 which supports the hanging section 2, an actuator which turns the stage section 3 around a perpendicular axis 10 which is a referential optical axis of the light beam outgoing from the optical body 20 while being suspended from the hanging section 2, and a display section 4 set at the predetermined distance from the optical body 20 on the perpendicular axis 10.
