<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diagnose failure in electronic equipment by minimum required diagnostic equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The failed condition of the electronic equipment 2 that is equipment to be inspected whose failure is to be diagnosed is inputted from an input apparatus 1g to a failure diagnostic apparatus 1. The failure diagnostic apparatus 1 transmits the failed condition to a host computer 4 via a network 3. The host computer 4 receives the failed condition, and extracts a diagnostic program for diagnosing the failure in accordance with the failed condition from a storage 4d. The host computer 4 transmits the diagnostic program to the failure diagnostic apparatus 1 via the network 3. The failure diagnostic apparatus 1 receives and executes the diagnostic program, and outputs a diagnostic signal outputted by the execution to the electronic equipment 2.
