PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recording method and system suitable for recording a recording source and accompanying information. SOLUTION: In recording accompanying information 0101a of video data produced corresponding to the video data 0103a, the video data 0103a is made to correspond to the first time information by the first time base, and a data recording medium 0110 records the correspondence as a time table 0107. The accompanying information 0101a is made to correspond to the second time information by the second time base, and the correspondence is recorded in the same data recording medium 0110 or other data recording medium as an accompanying information table 0108. Further, the cross-reference between the first and second time bases or the first time information and the second time information is recorded in the same data recording medium 0110 or other data recording medium as a link table 0109.
