PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve qualities of an article to be hot-dip plated, improve workability of hot-dip plating treatment, curtail precleaning treatment, and improve the work environment thereof, by improving a method for precleaning the article, and assuring a precleaning effect for the article. SOLUTION: The method for precleaning the article prior to hot-dip plating, includes pickling treatment and water rinse treatment, wherein the pickling treatment employs gluconic acid as a pickling agent, and the water rinse treatment employs an ultrasonic cleaning means.
