The invention relates to a method in the manufacture of a paper or board web, in which the paper or board web is manufactured on a manufacturing line. In the method, between two devices (10, 20) of the manufacturing line the web is fed into/discharged from a buffer stock (15) between said devices. The invention also relates to an apparatus in connection with a manufacturing line of a paper or board web. The apparatus has been arranged to create a buffer stock (15) of a web (W) between two devices (10, 20; 30) of the manufacturing line of the paper or board web.
