<p>A card type recording medium (18) has one side along which data is recorded in such a manner that the data can be read optically. That side is brought into contact with a card guide (30) and the card type recording medium (18) is manually moved in the direction of that side along the guide (30), so that the moving code is optically read by a code reading apparatus (22). The apparatus includes an image input unit for picking up an image of the moving code (10) and performing image processing and a data reading unit for reading the data from the image containing the code output from the image input unit. A predetermined relationship is defined between the moving direction of the card type recording medium (18) and the characteristic concerning the image input unit.</p> |
