Production of semifinished products comprises pressing a mixture of high molecular weight polymer and anthracite powder and sintering the product at 50-300degreesC and 50-1000 bar. An Independent claim is also included for a semifinished product comprising polyethylene with a molecular weight of at least 2000000, 0.5-70 wt.% anthracite powder and optionally additives.
