A water dispensing reservoir for a refrigerator of the type that comprises a cabinet (10) presenting two opposite lateral walls (11) and shelves (13) that are vertically spaced from each other, said reservoir being defined by a recipient (20), which is removably adapted inside the cabinet in the space defined between two consecutive shelves (13), and presents, frontally and inferiorly, a dispensing valve (30) having a downwardly facing outlet nozzle (31) and manual driving means (32, 32a), whose movements in one direction cause the opening of the dispensing valve (30) and, in the opposite direction, the closing of said dispensing valve (30).
