<p>An intracorporeal device such as a guide wire (10) with an elongated core (11) having a radiopaque (22, 33) and optionally MRI-compatible markers (22, 33) embedded in a polymer sleeve (21, 30) disposed on a distal section of the elongated core (13) is disclosed. The marker sleeve (21, 30) may be secured to a tapered portion (15) of the distal core (13) section or a constant diameter portion of the distal core section (13) .
