E-COMMERCE PAYMENT SYSTEMS

Equipment and a method of managing e-commerce transactions by an e-merchant in which a customer has a smart device associated with a bank. The method includes in a suitable order the steps of: a) in response to a customer order, confirming the reputability of the e-merchant to the customer by generating a digital voucher; b) causing the customer's smart device to verify the validity of the digital voucher and, if valid, to debit the cost of the purchases from the customer's e-purse; c) causing the customer's smart device to generate and send an authorisation for payment message to the e-merchant from the customer;d) requesting payment by the customer's bank to the e-merchant in response to the received authorisation for payment; and e) causing payment of the authorised amount to the e-merchant by the customer's bank.
