<p>An ink-jet recording device comprising a recording head having a plurality of delivery ports for delivering ink for making a record on a recording medium, and a cap member adapted to contact the delivery port side to seal the delivery ports of the recording head from the atmosphere and adapted to make the pressure in a sealed section negative with respect to the atmosphere to draw ink from the delivery ports so as to recover the delivering performance, the ink-jet recording device being characterized in that it further comprises a first engagement section disposed on the side of the recording head opposed to the cap member, and a second engagement section disposed on the side of the cap member opposed to the recording head, wherein in accordance with the abutting action between the cap member and the recording head, the first engagement section and the second engagement section of the cap member engage each other, thereby making possible the relative positioning in a plane at right angles with the direction of the abutting action between the recording head and the cap member.</p> |
