<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus (10) for preserving and dispensing wine or champagne. The apparatus (10) provides a housing (12) having a container support (13) for holding wine or champagne bottles (11), a plurality of removable stoppers (84) for insertion in the bottles (11), a nitrogen generator (46) for generating a nitrogen rich gas from air, a nitrogen storage tank (76) for storing the generated nitrogen rich gas, a cooling system (44) for cooling certain bottles (11) and dispensers (24) for providing wine or champagne from the bottles (11) to a user. The nitrogen generator (46) draws in ambient air, adsorbs the oxygen from the air and stores nitrogen rich gas in the nitrogen storage tank (76) . The nitrogen storage tank (76) supplies the nitrogen rich gas to the bottles (11) for preserving the wine or champagne. The stoppers (84) include a nitrogen line (120) and supply line (164). The nitrogen line (120) communicates nitrogen rich gas into the bottles (11) and the supply line (164) communicates wine or champagne from the bottles (11) to the dispensers (24).</p> |
