CONJUGATED DIENE POLYMER, PROCESS FOR ITS PRODUCTION AND RUBBER COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THE SAME

A process for production of a conjugated diene polymer which comprises conducting primary modification of a conjugated diene polymer having an active terminal which is obtained by copolymerization of a diene monomer alone or together with other monomer and in which the content of cis-1,4-bond in the conjugated diene moieties of the backbone chain is 75 mole% or above by reacting the active terminal with a hydrocarbyloxy- silane compound and then further reacting the resulting polymer with a specific compound such as a hydrocarbyloxysilane compound and rubber compositions containing the polymer modified by the above process, preferably, a rubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a rubber component containing the modified polymer and 10 to 100 parts by weight of silica and/or carbon black. The invention provides a process for production of a conjugated diene polymer which can give rubber compositions filled with silica and/or carbon black that are improved in fracture characteristics and wear resistance and exhibit lower heat build-up and excellent processability and which is reduced in cold flow such a diene polymer and rubber compositions and tires, made by using the same.
