The invention relates to a radiocommunication system comprising a first network element (RNC-ATM1) which supports connection-oriented communication and to which a first address is allocated in a first format, a second network element (RNC-IP1) which supports connectionless communication and to which a second address is allocated in a second format, a network transmission unit (IWU1) and a data bank (DNS). In order to establish a connection between the first network element (RNC-ATM1) and the second network element (RNC-IP1), a connection-oriented link is set up between the first network element (RNC-ATM1) and the network transmission unit (IWU1) and a packet-oriented link is set up between the network transmission unit (IWU1) and the second network element (RNC-IP1). Addresses in the first format are converted into the second format with the aid of the data bank (DNS).
